Matthew 5.14-16 - 14 "You are the light of the world. A city on a hill can't be hidden. 15 Also, people do not light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand. Then it gives light to everyone in the house.
16 "In the same way, let your light shine in front of others. Then they will see the good things you do. And they will praise your Father who is in heaven.

Let us turn to the one who is more than a lamp, let us pray to the Light of the World.
Lord God, Holy Father, Jesus our Savior, Spirit the Breath of God, Breath of Life.
We are assembled to seek your favor. We bear burdens that are heavy. We see many we love who live in distress, disturbed by a lack of connection to You. Many we love live in their own wisdom, within the confines of their own imagination. Assist us we pray to bear Your light, to be illuminated ourselves with the radiant Glory of Christ Jesus Himself.
For all who carry such burdens, who whisper their loved ones to you, grant comfort, grant courage. Grant words to speak and spirit that is at rest in sharing your light.
We pray for an outpouring of your Holy Spirit, encourage our hearts and give us a vision beyond our own sight. Mend our hearts to your Heart, and may your Light, be forver our Light. Amen.
